Constructed in 1909 during the Meiji era,
Toshiharu Ryokan is a traditional Japanese inn built in the Kyo-machiya style.
The main building and storehouse are designated
as Tangible Cultural Properties of Japan.
Our five rooms all have their own distinct tastes,
from a renovated storehouse, to a former tea room,
a room modelled after Katsura Imperial Villa,
and other rooms adorned with sophisticated natural wood and vintage nami-uchi glass.
You can take in the view of the hotel’s two courtyards from your room.
All the rooms are fitted with Japanese-style tatami mat flooring,
while seasonal scrolls and flowers decorate the interiors and alcoves.
The scene is set for guests to enjoy the relaxed,
traditional culture of Kyoto.
